Growing Together: Parkview Students Plant Trees for a Greener Future
Parkview Middle School recently participated in a meaningful community project, thanks to a grant from the Iowa Department of Natural Resources Trees for Kids program. On Sunday, September 22, students and their families gathered at Hawkeye Park in Ankeny to plant 10 trees, making a lasting contribution to the environment.
This project not only allowed students to engage in hands-on learning about tree care, but also fostered a sense of environmental stewardship. A heartfelt thank you goes to the Iowa DNR for funding this initiative and to TNT Landscaping & Nursery for providing the trees. We are especially grateful to the Parkview students and families who took part in ensuring the long-term health of our community’s green spaces. As a Chinese proverb reminds us, “The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is now.”
