SURVEY: Help Name New Buildings
Are you creative? Ankeny Community Schools is seeking suggestions regarding names for the new 8-9 middle school and elementary #9 which will open in Prairie Trail in 2011. Click here to take our survey and make your naming recommendations.

Weather Delays on Late-Start Wednesdays
The season for snow, ice, and generally bad weather is rapidly approaching. If school needs to be delayed due to inclement weather on a late-start Wednesday, we want to be sure parents and guardians understand the building start times. View a chart of start times for Wednesday weather delays here.

Pay-To-Ride Registration Underway
A reminder to parents and guardians interested in the Pay-To-Ride student transportation program: Registration for second semester is now underway and ends December 4. Transportation service for second semester Pay-To-Ride students begins January 11, 2010. Learn more about the Pay-To-Ride program here...

H1N1 Flu Precautions
The school district continues to take precautions regarding the H1N1 flu, and parents have an important role in helping to limit the spread of the virus. Find information about H1N1 flu here.

Bus Pass Holders
All regular bus students will be receiving a plastic bus card holder today as well as another ID card. They are to put their “BUS” card into this pouch and attach it to their backpack. They will have a second ID that they will use here at school for lunch and the media center. Thank you to the Transportation Department for purchasing these holders for our students. A lost pouch can be replaced for $2.00. A new student ID or Bus pass costs $5.00 to replace.
Concert Attire
CONCERT ATTIRE for all 6th and 7th grade chorus and band students is:
- Dress slacks or skirts any color - (NO jeans!)
- Dress shoes (No tennis shoes or flip-flops! – boys: dark socks)
- White shirt (Parkview Band/Chorus T-shirt recommended, but not required; any other plain white shirt is O.K. You may wear siblings’ Parkview music T-shirts from previous years.)
We don’t want to exclude anyone from participating due to financial need. Anyone unable to obtain the proper concert outfit should talk with the chorus director as soon as possible so that we can help. Each matter will be handled individually and discreetly.
